With more than 25 years of experience as a venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and business executive in Silicon Valley and around the world, John brings that passion for working with entrepreneurs to the Institute, whose mission is to close equity gaps in America. John has led the financing rounds and is currently on the board of directors for BlocPower and StormSensor. John also serves as a board observer for BioBot and Solstice. Before joining the charter AmFam Institute team, John worked as the VP of Kauffman Fellows Network, one of the world’s premier innovation, leadership, and venture capital-focused programs. John is a member of Kauffman Fellows Class 18.
John was also the Managing Director of Citrix Startup Accelerator, where his team invested in over 70 startups and ran accelerator programs in Silicon Valley and globally. Prior to that, John co-founded InnerWorkings, a startup that focused on performance-based training for professional software developers by creating a unique hands-on methodology with real-time code judging and performance analytics. Earlier in his career, John spent 13 years at Intel Corporation with primary roles in Business Development, as an Architecture Manager, and working with Intel Capital to invest in software startups. John is a Kauffman Fellow and has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University.
